How To Move WordPress Login Page For WordPress Security & Hack Prevention | WP Learning Lab
In this tutorial I’m going to show you how to use the Move Login plugin to move the default WordPress login page. This will help reduce the likelihood of a successful brute force attack on your website.
The WordPress plugin makes this process very easy. To get started please log into your WordPress admin dashboard and then hover of Plugins and click Add New.
Next, search for Move Login. You’re looking for a plugin by Gregory Viguier. When you find the plugin install and activate it.
The plugin adds a menu item called Move Login under the Settings menu. Click on it to see the settings. Now all you have to do is enter the URL you want to login page moved to.
The default settings for the plugin move the login page from wp-login.php to just login, which is ok. If you want it to be even more secure change the login page to a random word or a random set of letters and numbers.
You can also change the logout URL, the register URL, the Lost Password URL and the Password Reset URL.
Once you’re done with your settings click on Save Changes and you’ve moved the WordPress login page.
